June 9, 2022 from 1 - 7PM is the next Taste NY event at Belmont Park. See you there!
Oct 30, 2021 goes down in The Local Batch history books as the very first sales event! It was a great success.
We sold mini packs filled with 2 cookies each and our favorite Local Batch cookie story gift tin, featuring the Benchmark Cookie in Chapter One - "Take these with you..."
Each cookie type will have it's own chapter continuing the story of our mythical pioneers adventuring through life.
As for my adventure on day one of exhibiting the Benchmark Cookie, the best part by far was watching people's expression of surprise and joy as they tasted the cookie samples. It was priceless. One customer said 'it is crispy and soft!' I believe that wonderful texture comes from milling the whole wheat berry right before baking. Another exclaimed 'the cookie tasted like Christmas!'
I appreciated so much the two beautiful original horse paintings loaned to us for the occasion by Laura McNulty. She is a local Long Island artist who truly loves horses and has been showcased in the 25A magazine!
Also, a big thank you to my sister who helped tell my story and sell cookies and to all who came by the table and shared a moment or two out of their fun day at the races.
There will be another Belmont Park event in the Spring, the day before the Belmont Stakes. I am putting that on my calendar, see you there!
